However, the gap is still huge compared to l Shang Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings, and it looks like that will remain the lifetime of the two films. The splendour of Chinese karate meets the Hollywood superhero’s act of good and unwavering harmony in Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings, directed and written by Destin Daniel Cretton. Marvel’s first film with an Asian leader (Chinese-Canadian actor Si Liu is at work level) begins a well-planned hubris-versus-human conflict that exudes a riveting, and captivating spectacle.
The hesitant hero takes his time to emerge from the shell he made for himself. As a result, screenplay (written by director Dave Callahan and Andrew Lanham) has all the power and space to develop an important character while speeding up with the precise context of the transition from a young mind-boggling character to a fearless fighter ready to face reality of his birth and upbringing.
The same method is used for this villain, a much larger than healthy but well-rounded figure made wonderfully made by the Hong Kong spine and longtime Wong Kar-wai participant Tony Leung. His intentions, unlike those of the hero, were made quite clear from the very beginning. The ten rings are his and Xu Wenwu is very determined to use the influence they have given him.
The opponent, like many other critical forces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is hungry for power and does not want to expand his territory as much as possible. All of his actions and decisions are created as an emotional sensation or a clear psychological impulse in the excellent culture of sharp character research. Wenwu’s great desire, therefore, is as easy to understand as it is to hate.
At the beginning of the Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings, which combines both philosophy and human greatness in the pursuit of a hero on purpose, Katy (Awkwafina), her best friend and valet in a San Francisco hotel parking lot is so excited to do what she does, in the dinner of uncertainty and in critical health, a verbal act that strikes something quick given the amount of humanity the ongoing epidemic has taken.
In the context of the plot, too, Katy’s worries about life happening work in stark contrast to what is revealed by the detailed introduction voice that illuminates why Wenwu is unstoppable. He has the power of “god” and “has eternal life”. The uncertainty of the purpose or the instability of life and limbs – both of which are unaccounted for because of the ten rings he possesses – can undermine his quest for power and money. He has been in it for centuries.
Nowadays, Shang-Chi has no interest in claiming his family’s inheritance and lives anonymously in Frisco, working with a very happy Katy Chen, who, when we first saw her, used a key to the hotel’s guest and took a pin from the snazzy car, Shang-Chi, known to friends. his Americans like Shaun, reluctantly.
The stories of Shang-chi and Wenwu escalated during the revelation of the many clues that led to the unbreakable distance between the father and his two dissatisfied children, the hero and his sister Xu Xialing (Meng’er Zhang) since the death of their mother Ying Li (Fala Chen).
A father and son, a brother and a sister, a mother who still lives in the hearts of his children and a man who is deeply in love with his late wife and who believes he will return from many aspects of the family separated and yoked together at the same time.
The building progresses when, upon receiving a postcard from Xialing, Shang-Chi decides to fly to Macau to meet the sister with whom he has not been in contact for many years. Katy goes with him. In Macau, Shang-Chi revolts against an underground fighting club and at the crossroads of his sister, who has not forgiven him for his disappearance.
He is repeatedly attacked by fearsome Ten Rings troops. One of them, Razor Fist (Florian Munteanu), a man with a machete in his arm, puts him on a bus in San Francisco. Shang-chi’s heroic war, recorded by a rider, marches and precedes him to Macau.
Excessive transgression of the faith takes Shang-chi to his mother’s village, Ta Lo, which hides many of the secrets that Wenwu has been looking at since realizing that there is nothing left on Earth for him to conquer. The son knows he has to get there before You.
The hero goes on a journey full of troubles with Katy, Xialing, Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley), a character with a troubled history with Wenwu, and a very intelligent, mindless pet man, legends Katy can do better than describe him as a “chicken pig”.
They encounter strange and dangerous things in Ta Lo, where his aunt Ying Nan (Michelle Yeoh) is about to reveal the Shang-chi news. Martial arts and martial arts – trained by his father from the age of seven and sent on his first voyage when he was 14 – and the feelings of survival were severely tested by Wenwu, his cruel warriors, and “suckers of souls”.
The challenge for Shang-chi is to break free from the past, to discover the essence of his personality, and to strengthen his determination to use his power to benefit the world. Even if he gets his call for this life-changing event, he and viewers are still not sure how it will turn out in the years – and the films (never announced yet) – are yet to come.
The two scenes between the credits at the end of the film do nothing to end the ambiguity. Yes, Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) turns to Shang-Chi and says, simply saying: “Welcome to the circus.” As Si Liu excels in the universe of great heroes, it is worth waiting to find out what the future holds for the brand new MCU hero.
Sim Liu, who is in charge of the deportation of the great hero, does not miss the trick. Awkwafina’s presence adds to the controversy and humour in the film, as does Ben Kingsley. Menger Zhang, too, made a strong impact. But none of the characters can be compared to Tony Leung.
Leung is surprisingly high. He transforms himself into the ugly and unacceptable kind that Shang-Chi needs to escape. The film, featuring eye-catching VFX, first-rate action choreography and the captivating Liu and Leung duet, is definitely rising better than usual.
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings definitely deserve a trip to the nearest multiplex.
